Does Hebert's Manufacture Chocolate?
No, we make candy using chocolate that has been made to our specifications. We further blend chocolate here at the Mansion to get the distinctive flavors that our customers love.
Where Does Hebert's Chocolate Come From?
Our chocolate is blended domestically, from cacao beans that come from Africa and Indonesia. If you happen to drive by the Mansion early in the morning, you may see large tank trucks parked out side, delivering liquid chocolate to our "tank farm".
How Much Chocolate Do You Have At The Mansion?
Anywhere from 25,000 to 170,000 pounds, depending on the time of year.
What Flavors of Chocolate Do You Have At The Mansion?
The majority of the chocolate we have here is milk chocolate; we also inventory dark chocolate and white chocolate.
What is White Chocolate?
White Chocolate is made from the same ingredients as milk chocolate, but contains no chocolate liquor or cocoa powder.
What is Chocolate Liquor?
Chocolate Liquor is NOT Alcohol, it is the product of refining cocoa beans to extract both cocoa butter and cocoa solids, and is the basis for making milk and dark chocolate. Chocolate Liquor sold commercially as unsweetened baking chocolate.
Is Hebert's candy Kosher?
Yes, the chocolate candy (including boxed chocolates, molded items, pops, non pariels, enrobed pretzels, enrobed crackers, nut patties, nut clusters) and fudge made here at Hebert's manufacturing facilities in Shrewsbury are certified Kosher by the Vaad Hair of Worcester, Massachusetts. Our plant meets or exceeds cleanliness, documentation and proper processing standards specified in the United States Code of Federal Regulations to obtain Kosher certification.
Some candy in our Retail store is purchased from other sources that may or may not be Kosher. All candies bearing this symbol are Kosher. If you have concerns about a specific kind of candy that we offer please speak with a supervisor on our sales floor or email info@hebertcandies.com.
